Santorini is a wonderful island with rich history and culture. There are various archaeological sites that you can visit such as the ancient settlement of Akrotiri, which dates back to the Cycladic’s Civilianization more than 3.500 years ago. 
The Cultural and Archaeological Museum in Fira is the perfect place to become acquainted with its history and see the amazing artefacts that are on display. 
Of course, Santorini is also known for its exquisite wine. So, while you’re here, do not forget to visit the Wine Museum and learn more about the local wine-making tradition, or choose one of the 11 wineries in order to have a wine tasting experience. 
The local cuisine will leave a lasting impression on you with its special flavors and dishes such as split peas, tomatokeftethes, moussaka and extremely fresh fishes. 
The island is mostly famous for its romantic, colorful sunset and some of the best places to watch this stunning view are the traditional villages of Oia,  Akrotiri lighthouse, Imerovigli and Firostefani. So, do not miss out on the best sunset spots!
If you would like to dive into the local architecture, then Emporio with its tall windmills , traditional village, Pyrgos with an amazing Venetian Castle and of course Oia with its houses that are carved into the lava rock are really what you are looking for. 
Adrenaline seekers can live the ultimate adventure by taking up water sports or opting for a catamaran sunset or volcano cruise. There is also a big choice of island hopping  to visit nearby islands like Ios, Anafi, Naxos, Thyrasia and many more.
